Padjadjaran University



Padjadjaran University (abbreviated Padjadjaran University) is a public university in Bandung, Indonesia, which was established on August 14, 1956. Padjadjaran University Rector for the period 2007-2011 is Prof.. Dr. Ganjar Kurnia.

Padjadjaran University has 16 faculties, namely:
1. Faculty of Law
2. Faculty of Economics
3. Medical school
4. Faculty of Natural Sciences
5. Faculty of Agriculture
6. Faculty of Animal Husbandry
7. Faculty of Letters
8. Faculty of Social and Political Sciences
9. Faculty of Communication Sciences
10. Faculty of Dentistry
11. Faculty of Nursing
12. Psychology Faculty
13. Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science
14. Faculty of Agricultural Technology
15. Faculty of Pharmacy
16. Faculty of Engineering Geology
17. and Graduate Program

Padjadjaran University has two main campuses, the Campus Iwa Street Koesoema Soemantri Dipati Ukur, Bandung and Jatinangor Campus in Jalan Raya Bandung-Sumedang, Sumedang. In addition to these two campuses, there are some campuses that are spread in several locations in Bandung area, among others: Sekeloa, Singaperbangsa, Dago 4, Simpang Dago, Dago Top, Dago Corner, Banda, Cimadiri, Cisangkut, Eikman, Pasirkaliki, Tengku Umar, and a few other places that are used by several units at Padjadjaran University.

Universitas Padjadjaran was established on the initiative of community leaders in West Java who want a college where young people obtain higher education in West Java to prepare future leaders. After going through a series of processes, on 11 September 1957, Padjadjaran University was formally established by Government Regulation No. 37 years old in 1957, and inaugurated by President Soekarno on September 24, 1957.

At its inception, Padjadjaran University only has 4 (four) faculty. Currently, Padjadjaran University has developed into one of the leading universities in Indonesia with 16 faculty and a Graduate Program. Education programs being offered consists of nine fields Doctoral Studies and Master 18, 42 Strata Study Program I (S1), 4 Professional Studies Program, 26 Programme Specialist Studies, a Diploma Program (D-4), and 27 Diploma Course ( D-3).

Based on data from the BAN-PT accreditation (November 2008), Padjadjaran University ranked fourth most universities have accredited proragm S1 study A (33 pieces) after a 60 UGM, UI 37, and the IPB 37 courses of study.
