Institute of Technology (ITS) is a college diSurabaya. Institute of Technology is one of the largest technical universities in Indonesia, which is a center of excellence in science and technology in Indonesia. ITS is known for excellence in the field of shipbuilding technology danrobotika. Currently ITS is in the process to get international recognition from the academic year 2005/2006 so that ITS did not receive high school graduates only Indonesia, but also a graduate student abroad.
Sukolilo ITS campus occupies an area of 180 hectares with a building area of approximately 150 000 m2 entirely. In addition there Manyar Campus used by Program D-3 Civil Engineering with an area of 5176 m2 and Campus ITS Cokroaminoto used for management masters as well as several institutions in collaboration with a building area of 4000 m2.
History.
Institute of Technology has a history of the establishment since 10 November 1957. Technical College Foundation, established 10 November Surabayayang inaugurated by President Soekarno. College of Engineering 10 November Surabayahanya has two departments namely, Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering Department.
After several years through the efforts pioneered by leaders from YPTT, College of Engineering November 10, changed the status of a State University with a name: "Institute of Technology in Surabaya". Surabaya Institute of Technology which was originally to have two (2) Department of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering turned into five, namely: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Shipping, and chemical engineering.

Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI): Faculty of Industrial Technology as the largest faculty in the ITS, including six majors with a total building area of 27 160 m2 of total area of 188 hectare campus, 321 people supported by 196 Academic and Education Workforce, with a total of 6161 students (Moon October 2007) spread in 18 study program consisting of:
• Mechanical Engineering: Undergraduate Program (S1), Master (S2), Diploma III (D3).
• Electrical Engineering: Undergraduate Program (S1), Master (S2), Doctoral Program (S3), Diploma Programs Computer Control.
• Chemical Engineering: Undergraduate Program (S1), Master (S2), Doctoral Program (S3), Diploma III (D3).
• Engineering Physics: Undergraduate Program (S1), Master (S2), Instrumentation Engineering Diploma Program.
• Industrial Engineering: Undergraduate Program (S1), Master (S2).
• Materials & Metallurgical Engineering: Undergraduate Program (S1).
With competency-based curriculum which emphasizes aspects of quality, relevance and outcome, FTI is able to produce graduates of higher education that are relevant to the needs of the working world. The existence of extensions and diploma programs in the FTI also adds to the meaning contribution of manpower supply and engineering undergraduate engineering associate professionals, according to the potential of ITS as the largest technical college education providers in the region of eastern Indonesia.
